Why choose to drop ship electronic cigarettes?
With millions of searches in major search engines for electronic cigarettes and a growing number of Americans looking to quit smoking it is easy to see why drop shipping them is a viable business model. The market is already there, it is just a case of seizing it and making a profit. Consumers look to buy electronic cigarettes because they provide elements of convenience, cost saving measures and health benefits that can’t be found in normal cigarettes or nicotine replacement therapy. Unlike gum and patches they mimic the actions that come with smoking and unlike normal cigarettes they do not cause harmful smoke. These unique selling points make them ideal for drop shipping.
How could I drop ship electronic cigarettes?
By looking at the wide range of products that are associated with electronic cigarettes it is easy to see how to drop ship them. The easiest and most obvious approach is to look towards building business online. Websites such as Amazon permit the sale of e-cigarettes and eBay allows for auctions on the accessories that come with them, removing the need for an immediate website.
Those that are feeling a little more adventurous when it comes to marketing can start a small business website that targets consumers on both a national and local level. On a national level around 20% of Americans smoke, giving a large online target audience. On a local level it is easy to drum up an audience for a mail order campaign through creating special offers and announcements. Locally targeted websites are also easier for search engine optimization.
Drop shipping electronic cigarettes through the use of mail order catalogues is ideal for those who wish to form a local business and those that are not confident with using the internet for promotion. Most major electronic cigarette wholesalers will offer their drop shippers the chance to make the most of promotional materials such as brochures, business cards and displays that can be used at trade shows and conventions. Through the use of these materials it is easy to draw on the millions of Americans that wish to quit smoking.
How cost friendly is an electronic cigarette drop shipping business?
The start up costs for any drop shipping business should be relatively low and electronic cigarettes are no different. If drop shippers have an existing website, catalogue or online auction account they already have a base through which to sell electronic cigarettes. Even without those things it is relatively cheap to build a website, design a small catalogue or create an auction account.
The beauty of drop shipping is that the product can be purchased at wholesale prices and then the mark up is decided by the seller. Overhead costs like promotional materials and commissions from online merchants can be added before deciding on an eventual profit, which means the money making process is straight forward. By drop shipping there is no need for storage costs. The electronic cigarette wholesaler ships their products out on behalf of the seller.
Retailers that choose to drop ship electronic cigarettes are tapping in to an existing market that is easy to manipulate. With a lot of Americans currently smoking and many looking to try a new approach to quitting it is easy to see why drop shipping electronic cigarettes is becoming increasingly popular.
